Summer has been long gone 
Now we hear Autumn's song
Fiery leaves twirl, in wind games 
Blazing treetops, falling flames
Hillsides wrapped in red stains
The season spills its cabernet
Drink up, before it fades away
Every day, a new color palette 
Across the landscape, does gallop
 

 
Bright orange tones and shiny copper
Mustard yellow's a leaf hopper
Golden bronze and peachy pinks
Dazzling, how this painter thinks
 
Autumn's season of shifting light
A warm honeyed glow, it shines bright
The slanting sun casts long shadows 
That lay themselves upon meadows 
 
A lone crow caws, a cold wind blows
This morning, the lawn refroze
Soon, the book of Autumn shall close
Winter's waiting to propose
