Blue Jays are the first on the morning scene
Backyard, they've come to clean
Pick and find what the earth has
And as I watch their meticulous search, the most golden sunshine cascades
Cuts the thin haze of fog; as this quickly fades
A shower of leaves tumbles, burnished orange and brown shades under lit with sun as they go down
My soul frown turns to a smile
As I linger in this moment awhile
Finches and a woodpecker are a close second
Branch hopping; this Monday and me hadn't reckoned with serenity
Yet it is here with certainty
